AIDS Walk San Francisco (AWSF) 2010 will take place in Golden Gate Park this Sunday, July 18, 2010. Judging by the past few days, the weather should be beautiful for a morning walk followed by afternoon entertainment. Today, I want to give a shout out to the fine staff at AIDS Walk San Francisco. After months of pouring hard work and creativity into a one day event, they pulled it off and raised over $3.5 million. While the recession has hit many nonprofits hard, it is clear AWSF 2009 participants, sponsors, and friends put compassion first. Great job AWSF staff and volunteers! Here’s looking forward to AWSF 2010!

This Sunday, July 20th, I will take part in AIDS Walk San Francisco 2008 (AWSF). The 10K (6.2 mile) trek through Golden Gate Park will helps raise awareness and much needed funds in the continued fight against HIV and AIDS. In its history AWSF has raised over $65 million for HIV and AIDS awareness, education, prevention, and advocacy. The San Francisco AIDS Foundation along with over 50 other organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area benefit from the money raised. [...]
