Many congrats to Catholic artist Matt Maher for releasing his first official music video. The video is for his latest single “Rise Up.” While I’ve heard this song play several times on my iTunes playlist, hearing it again today could not have come at a better time. Its lyrics hit home today.
There’s less than a month to go until the release of Matt Maher’s new album, The Love In Between. In June, Matt gave an In Between The Songs look at his new single “Turn Around” (now available on iTunes). In this recent behind-the-music video, Matt shares the thoughts behind his new song, “The Spirit and the Bride.”
Revelation 22:17: The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let everyone who hears say, “Come.”
The Love In Between hits stores on 9.20.11. It is now available for pre-order on iTunes.Looking forward to bringing you a review of this album in a few weeks.
Well, I’ve been posting up quite a bit about Matt Maher lately. He just keeps popping up and sharing a little bit of himself with all of us each day. Two days ago, Matt posted a new video up on his YouTube channel. The video is a reflection on conversion, repentance, and being able to turn back to Jesus no matter how far we’ve strayed. God’s grace gifts us with the ability to “turn around.” It is a nice preview to the upcoming album and a short behind-the-scenes look at the recording process. I love how Matt relates the broken strings on his guitar to conversion. Nice touch.
I’m looking forward to reviewing the new album in September.
Last week I wrote about the September 20th release of Matt Maher’s third studio recording. Today, Provident Label Groupannounced some exciting news about the release and Matt’s touring efforts in the upcoming months. K-Love recently released a video recording of Matt’s new single “Turn Around”–three weeks before the single’s July-release on iTunes. “Turn Around” is a fine song that deals with the themes of pain, loss, desperation, grace, redemption, and love. Another great song from Matt. Enjoy.
That’s right, Matt Maher’s third studio recording will be released in the Fall. Already, Matt Maher is gearing up for the release with a brand new look for the website. It looks fantastic! Be sure to visit and check out the three sample tracks from “The Love in Between.” According to the website, “The Love In Between unveils a side of this new husband and father that delves more deeply into the ideas of suffering, grace, redemption and hope.” I’m definitely looking forward to this new release, which should be another great collection of tracks from Matt and his band. Be sure to check back in the Fall for my review of “The Love In Between.” While we’re at it, please send your prayers and best wishes to Matt and his wife as the two are expecting their first child in the next few months!
I should have posted this earlier in the Lenten season, but I’ve been a little busy finishing up my MA program. It’s never too late, however, to post up a good Lenten reflection. Here is Matt Maher’s wonderful “40 Days” with a great slideshow created by Si Smith.
Also, Matt and Paul George of ADORE Ministries have created a wonderful series of reflection videos for Holy Week. There are four videos leading up to the Triduum. The videos are short, reflective, and a good reminder to take a few minutes each day this week to reflect on what the next few days are all about. You can find the videos on MattMaherMusic.com and SpiritandSong.com. Matt's site includes a study guide with each video that assists with prayer and reflection. The series is an exegesis of Matt's recent album, "Alive Again", but is also a Lenten journey from death to life.
